Trying to set the combination:

When you receive the lock in the mail, it is very important to read the instructions that came with the lock first and foremost.

The lock is set to 0-0-0 as factory settings. To set the lock, press and hold tightly the button on the bottom right of the lock. DO NOT let go of this button as that means you just set the lock at whatever numbers they were on. While holding the button in tightly change the 3 dials to whatever 3 digits you want and then release. Pinch the cable together and the right side will release open.
