It will be so nice to have our skis protected when we travel. We love the hard case! We were always concerned when they were packed and slammed around during plane travel. Now we know that they will arrive undamaged.

Bulky

I traveled with 2 sets of skis in this case. Both trips I found the case too bulky once we were on ground travel from airport to ski resort via, hotel shuttle van. Second trip we had to take skis out of case to get them to fit in the Suburban (which is a pretty big SUV. Most recent trip the case did not make it to our destination with our other bags. It got routed with BULK items not luggage. When it was delivered to hotel the axel was broken in half and wheel gone. This is not the fault of the case failing, but the airline treating it like bulk cargo and not luggage. Once in hotel room the case is also too bulky. I will go back to single ski soft case for travel in future.

Waited far too long to purchase this product

A few years ago I noticed a friends' Sportube and realized that my system of duct taping pillows around my skis when I fly might need an upgrade. Finally purchased one and my anxiety about flying with expensive equipment is gone! Tube came out of my most recent flight with an enormous scratch, just further evidence that the protection is necessary!

Multiple sets of skis are not protected from each other. I travel with a set of all mountain skis and powder skis, they BARELY fit with a set of poles. It takes some effort to get it to close. I am worried TSA will not be able to close it again. You need thick rubber bands to hold up the brakes up so that the case will close. You also need long strips of velcro to hold the skis together since you have to nest them awkwardly to get them to fit. Sportube should provide both since they are cheap and most people wont have them. You should use something to protect the bindings from rubbing on the top sheet of the opposite ski if you care about the appearance of your skis.
The material is high quality and I do believe that my skis are well protected from external forces but I cant stop thinking that the case is like a tank without seat belts, the contents are bouncing around into each other.
The removable handle is a great and I think this will last a longer than my last soft bag.

Great protection, light and easy to handle and wheel around the airport.
