What gear fits inside the Prospector?

The Prospector Bag is designed to carry a variety of gear while keeping it organized. Be mindful of the 50 lb weight limit. Examples of what fits include:

  • 2 snowboards, 2 pairs of boots, 2 helmets, and multiple pairs of gloves, goggles, and outerwear layers. 
  • 3 pairs of skis with poles, 2 helmets, and multiple pairs of gloves, goggles, and outerwear layers.

Will I be charged more for oversized baggage at the airline?

It’s unlikely. Most U.S. airlines servicing ski destinations make exceptions or have specific policies for oversized winter sports luggage, so the standard 62 linear inch size limit typically doesn’t apply. However, the standard 50 lb weight limit usually still does. Always check your airline’s specific policy before traveling.
Should I get the 171 cm or a 191 cm size?

Choose the size based on the length of the gear being carried. The 171 cm bag is suitable for snowboards or shorter skis, while the191 cm bag is ideal for skis or longer gear.
Can I pack other items in the Prospector?

Yes. The Prospector is designed with ample organization in mind, including two large exterior pockets for jackets, pants, or additional gear, a small top pocket for quick-access items, and an interior mesh pocket for smaller accessories.
Do I need a wheeled bag?
